Break Policy Information:

Students in the categories below may request to stay late, return early, or stay for the entire duration of break.

All requests that are received on time will be reviewed, but we cannot guarantee that we will approve requests. If a request is filed on time and approved, there is no charge for the student's stay.

Late Requests are subject to a $50 fee. If you are experiencing financial hardships that will prevent you from paying this late fee, please contact the Dean of Student's office to request a payment plan or alternate arrangements.

Requests can be submitted on the Adirondack Housing Portal.

Please note that meal plans do not operate over break periods.

Students who can request break approval

  1. International Students
  2. Students who live more than 300 miles from campus
  3. Students with a class and academic related situation (i.e. student teaching, internship, etc.) with endorsement from a Faculty member
  4. Student Groups such as athletic teams and clubs who have been granted permission through a coach or advisor
  5. Students assisting or working for a campus department during break (to be requested by department)
  6. Extenuating family and/or home request- to be reviewed on an individual basis

Dining During Easter Break

There are no classes, Friday, March 29th through Monday, April 1st, 2024. Classes resume on April 2nd. The residence halls will remain open and students do not need to request to stay on campus for this break, but there will be limited Dining Operations on campus during this time.

The General’s Quarters will be open 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm starting Friday, March 29th through Sunday, March 31st.  All other restaurants will be closed.

The following items will be offered, in addition to ‘Bergers Grill and Simply To Go Grab and Go items:

  • Kosher meals
  • Vegetarian soup

Cash, credit cards, Berg Bucks and *Dining Dollars are accepted.  

*Dining Dollars will be accepted as a form of payment, even though the Meal Plan will not be running during Easter Break. Meal Swipes cannot be used after Thursday, March 28th dinner or before Monday, April 1st brunch.

If you are running low on Dining Dollars, you may add additional Berg Bucks to your account using this page.

If you are experiencing financial hardship and need to request an emergency grant, please apply here.

As always, the M.U.L.E. Cabinet will be available to students. You can access the Cabinet any time Seegers is open (8:30am-10:00pm daily). Once you are at the entrance to the Cabinet, request access by contacting Campus Safety (484-664-3112). The dispatcher will open the door remotely for you. After shopping, weigh your items on the scale and record the date and total weight in the notebook. Turn off the lights and shut the door as you leave.

 


 

End of the Academic Year Policy Information:

Graduating Seniors (Those officially approved to walk at the Sunday, May 19, 2024 Commencement Ceremony) are approved to stay in college housing until May 19th at 7pm

For all other students College Housing closes at 10am Saturday, May 11, 2024. Students are required to move out of their rooms 24 hours after their last final or Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 10am (whichever is earlier).

Students in the categories below may request to return early.

All requests that are received on time (April 26th) will be reviewed, but we cannot guarantee that we will approve requests. Approvals for on time requests will be sent by Thursday, May 2, 2024
