The Data Lab helps students, faculty and staff grow their data skills, preparing them for success on campus and beyond.
Students lead workshops on data visualizations, predictive analytics tools and coding for data extraction and simulation analysis, by providing training on software such as Excel, Tableau and Python. Initiated and championed by students in the Department of Accounting, Business, Economics and Finance, the Data Lab’s programs are open to anyone at the College, advancing cross-discipline conversation and building community.
And the best is yet to come. In Fall 2024, we’ll host the inaugural Data Lab modeling contest, challenging teams of students to apply their creativity and their data know-how to a common question of interest. Plans for future development include peer-to-peer project support, a comprehensive compendium of analysis-ready data and fostering interaction with Muhlenberg alumni who are leveraging data to change the world.
