How to Apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

  • Muhlenberg’s Federal School Code is 003304
  • A 2025-26 FAFSA is required in order to be considered for need-based financial aid.

CSS Profile

  • Completing the CSS Profile is strongly encouraged for students applying for fall 2025 entry. This will allow you to receive a timely financial aid estimate along with your admission decision. The CSS Profile is free to complete for students who self-report income lower than $100,000 per year. Other students who believe the $25 filing fee is a financial hardship can request a fee waiver code specifically for their Muhlenberg CSS Profile.

IMPORTANT: Prospective first-year students can apply for need-based financial aid by completing the 2025-26 FAFSA when it becomes available. If a student does not intend to apply for need-based financial aid, they will not need to complete a FAFSA or CSS Profile and will only need to apply for admission to the College.

For more information about the financial aid process for international students, visit the Apply as an International Student page.

All required documents can be viewed on a student's Application Status Portal.

Early Scholarship & Aid Review

Students walk down tree-lined academic row in Muhlenberg College in early spring.

For high school seniors who have given serious thought and consideration to Muhlenberg College and are considering applying, especially as an Early Decision applicant, the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid offers an opportunity for an Early Scholarship and Aid Review. Students who wish to receive an estimate for both merit and need-based aid should complete both the Early Scholarship and Aid Review form and the CSS Profile.

The Early Scholarship and Aid Review gives an indication of what kind of aid a student may be offered if they choose to apply and are admitted to the College. Students who receive an Early Scholarship and Aid Review will still be required to complete a FAFSA once it is available in order to finalize their financial aid offer. Our goal in providing this information is so that students and their families can make an informed decision about if applying, particularly the commitment of Early Decision is the right choice for them. Please note that this form is for domestic, first-year applicants only and may only be submitted one time. Submission of this form is not an application for admission or financial aid.
