Vision/Sound Revisited: Allentown’s 80’s Art Scene
June 14 – August 2
Vision/Sound Revisited: Allentown’s 80’s Art Scene is a major exhibition celebrating downtown Allentown’s arts and culture scene and synonymous radio airwaves revolution – with a focus on the period 1978 – 1988. Events include concurrent exhibitions of work by 12 local visual artists of the period, along with sound installations of local bands and radio broadcasts dating from the era featuring WMUH-FM community programmers. An opening reception will be held Wednesday June 14, from 5 – 7pm, in Baker Center for the Arts, at Muhlenberg College Campus.
This exhibition will be in conjunction with a show of contemporary work at the Baum School in downtown Allentown, and a panel discussion with the curators and artists at the Allentown Art Museum.
