Adjunct Professor, Voice
Anthony Sharp (they/he) is an operatic bass and pianist holding a M.M. in Voice Performance from The Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University (‘22) and a B.M. in Voice Performance from Temple University (‘18).
Anthony can frequently be heard as bass soloist throughout the Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia. Notable engagements include singing Bach’s Ich habe genug, BWV 82 with the Pennsylvania Sinfonia Orchestra at Christ Lutheran Church, and performing the role of bass soloist/narrator in Tippett’s A Child of Our Time with the Temple University Symphony Orchestra and combined choirs in Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. While at Peabody, Anthony sang principal roles in Handel’s Semele and Argento’s Postcard from Morocco, and won 1st prize in the 2020 Vocal Studies Song Competition.
As a bass chorister, Anthony has enjoyed singing with Baltimore Choral Arts Society, Opera Philadelphia Chorus, Philadelphia Symphonic Choir, Westminster Chapel Choir, and Interrupted Silence—a new professional vocal ensemble based in the Lehigh Valley.
As a teacher, Anthony is passionate about leading artists to discover a ‘why’ for singing as they work together on the ‘how.’ Each lesson provides an encouraging, safe space for students to be themselves, share their truth, find confidence in their vocal identity, and explore their own unique instrument.
Anthony is now Director of Music (organist/choirmaster) at Allentown’s Episcopal Church of the Mediator and Associate Conductor/Accompanist of Valley Voices—a community chorus based in Neffs.
