Mathematics helps us understand and explain the world around us.

Students work on solving problems in Calculus III.

It connects to virtually all other fields of study. As a result, math majors develop useful skills that apply to a wide range of industries and career paths.

As a math major or minor at Muhlenberg, you’ll enjoy small classes and close mentorship from distinguished faculty representing subject expertise across theoretical and applied mathematics, statistics and analytics.

As you deepen your mathematical knowledge and skills, you’ll be better positioned to explore interdisciplinary topics including psychology, business and public health. In your junior and senior year, you’ll choose to study from a range of specialized topics, including number theory, computational linear algebra, the theory of imaginary numbers and sabermetrics.

Muhlenberg’s math students turn learning into action through research, internships and other hands-on opportunities that lay the groundwork for meaningful careers.
