There’s no experience like the real thing.
As soon as you declare your accounting major, you’ll have the chance to get a taste of the professional world of accounting.
Sophomore year: Workplace experience can start as early as the summer following sophomore year with structured development experiences offered by the Big Four (Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young and KPMG) and a variety of information-interview and shadow job experiences, which often draw from Muhlenberg’s network of alumni accounting professionals.
Junior year: As early as the fall of your junior year, you can begin interviewing for internships that will be completed in the upcoming summer. This experience is invaluable in terms of professional exposure but it can also offer essential credit hours for anyone looking to sit for their CPA exam after graduation.
