Expiration of Email Accounts
There are many reasons for which an individual might leave Muhlenberg College. The account expiration policies are listed below. The College reserves the right to suspend an account or revoke access privileges at any time for violation of our Electronic Communications Policy.
If separation is for cause, accounts will expire immediately and without notice.
Faculty
Retired Emeritus Faculty meeting College eligibility for "Retiree" status (age 60 or older with 10+ years of full-time service) will be permitted to retain their email privileges if their account remains active. An account inactive for a period of one year will be removed.
Retired Non-emeritus Faculty meeting College eligibility for "Retiree" status (age 60 or older with 10+ years of full-time service) will receive a forwarding service to a personal email account for 1 year following departure from the college. Access to your Muhlenberg email account concludes on your final day of employment.
Faculty Departures (Other than Retiree Status): Email accounts will be deactivated on the last day of work.
Staff
Access to your Muhlenberg email account concludes on your final day of employment.
Students
Alumni
Alumni will retain Google (Email and Drive) access for 6 months post graduation.
Students who leave before graduation
Students who leave without completion of their degree or other program will retain their Google privileges for 6 months.
Be Proactive Before Losing Access
You should inform any current contacts of a new or alternate address, so that you do not lose communication with them.
If you used your Muhlenberg email address to setup any online accounts such as shopping, social media, or streaming, you MUST change this to your personal email address.
Use Google Takeout to copy Emails and/or Drive files to your personal Google account.
Expelled Students
Email privileges will be suspended immediately upon directive from the Dean of Students’ Office.
