There may be occasions when the College makes plans to include a fireworks display on campus as part of a celebration. When presenting a fireworks display, the College will make every attempt to keep noise, parking and other neighborhood distractions to a minimum. The College will also make reasonable attempts to notify all neighbors in the surrounding area. It is understood that social life and co-curricular activities are an important part of the residential college experience.
Any fireworks display shall be set off from the Library Lawn or alternate location that is deemed to have the lowest impact on the surrounding neighborhood.
Neighbors will be notified via a mailing, an e-mail to the neighborhood watch group and a will be posted on social media.
The Office of Communications will collect e-mail addresses from neighbors in the ordinance zone and notify surrounding neighbors of major events that might create neighbor concerns.
No persons are to be in possession of fireworks unless a permit has been obtained from the City of Allentown.
Ordinarily, fireworks displays will be conducted no more than once in any 12 month period and all fireworks displays must be operated and managed by a licensed fireworks technician.
No fireworks shall occur without the prior authorization of the President and a permit secured from the City of Allentown.
