Katy earned her B.S. in Psychology from Old Dominion University and is currently pursuing an M.Ed. in Mental Health Counseling at Lehigh University. Her counseling approach blends psychodynamic and feminist multicultural therapy with a person-centered framework, providing a holistic understanding of her clients' unique perspectives, while prioritizing their autonomy and choice. Katy believes in fostering a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can feel heard and empowered to navigate their own personal journeys. She is passionate about the development and intersection of one’s identities, relationship dynamics, and societal roles and expectations. As a queer woman of color and a transracial adoptee, Katy is particularly dedicated to supporting LGBTQIA+ and multicultural individuals, as well as those experiencing adoption and grief-related challenges. Outside of her professional life, Katy enjoys connecting with the world around her. She loves spending time in nature, hiking scenic trails, capturing moments through photography, and traveling to new places.
