Jessica earned her B.A. in Psychology from Muhlenberg College, her M.S. in Counseling with a concentration in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Gwynedd Mercy University and is currently pursuing professional licensure. Jess is a published co-author of research at the Center for Studies of  Addiction at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine. Jess considers her years of experience working with adolescents in a residential treatment setting at McLean Hospital as among the most influential in terms of her decision to become a counselor.

In counseling sessions, Jess prefers a client-centered, strengths-based approach, also drawing on cognitive theory and positive psychology to support students as they face life’s inherent developmental challenges, and to navigate those challenges and experiences which may arise more unexpectedly. Jess aims for Cultural Humility in all aspects of life but finds it a most critical practice in her work with clients. Consideration of every client as a unique individual with their own cultural background, history, beliefs and worldview is of primary importance to Jessica’s counseling practice.
