Elections Series Kicks off with "Fear and Loathing after Citizens United"
Michael Franz, associate professor of government and legal studies at Bowdoin College, will give a talk, “Fear and Loathing after Citizens United” on Tuesday, September 18 at 7:00 p.m. in Miller Forum, Moyer Hall.Monday, September 10, 2012 09:58 AM
This event, part of the series “Democracy and the 2012 Election,” is free and open to the public.
Franz’s research interests include campaign finance and political advertising. He is the author or coauthor of four books, including Choices and Changes: Interest Groups in the Electoral Process (2008) and The Persuasive Power of Campaign Advertising (2011). Franz is currently co-director of the Wesleyan Media Project, which tracks and codes political ads on television.
“Democracy and the 2012 Election” is the fifth nonpartisan election series coordinated by Muhlenberg’s department of political science since 1992. Co-sponsored by a number of other departments on campus, the goal of the series is to offer the Muhlenberg and wider community an opportunity to examine critical issues linked to the 2012 presidential election.
