Muhlenberg College Hosts a Community Forum on Nonprofit Leadership

Muhlenberg students will have an opportunity to meet the active leaders of community organizations on Wednesday, February 9, from 4pm-5:30pm.

 Thursday, February 3, 2011 11:45 AM

The program, "Nonprofit Leadership That Works To Help Others: A Community Forum," is presented in collaboration with the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley.  Admission is free and refreshments will be provided.

The featured speakers are leaders of two local organizations that do outstanding work serving especially vulnerable residents: Suzanne M. Beck, Executive Director of the Crime Victims Council of the Lehigh Valley, and Rev. Dr. Christine Nelson, Executive Director of the Lehigh County Conference of Churches. They are among several Lehigh Valley nonprofit leaders who have participated in a leadership development program at Harvard Business School.  They will share some of their own leadership practices, its effects on their organizations' service to needy people in the community, and key lessons from their interaction with other nonprofit leaders from around the country at Harvard.
