Wescoe School Offers Tools For Success
Since its inception, The Wescoe School of Muhlenberg College has been committed to providing its students with the tools necessary to succeed in the work force.Tuesday, August 22, 2006 01:59 PM
Now, Wescoe is going the extra mile to provide the students in its accelerated degree programs with the tools for success in the classroom, as well.
“Students entering into an accelerated degree program will now receive, as a part of their tuition, a laptop computer with standard software. Students will also continue to receive their textbooks as a part of tuition,” explains Philip Howe, director of The Wescoe School’s accelerated degree programs.
While enrolled in an accelerated degree program, students will acquire experience with team building, project management, time management, conflict resolution and will develop presentation, facilitation and leadership skills.
“It’s our philosophy that adult students learn best when learning is experiential and has direct application to the workplace. Team projects challenge individuals to work collaboratively to research business problems and develop sound, supportable solutions,” explains Simon Priest, Ph.D., Wescoe School dean.
Rather than rely solely on hypothetical case studies found in textbooks, The Wescoe School often partners with area businesses and organizations for classroom projects. Instructors provide challenging classes using hands-on opportunities to address real-world business needs.
Classes are now forming in the following concentrations: business administration, business administration with a concentration in healthcare management, business administration with a concentration in financial services management, human resources management, and information systems
