Muhlenberg College Faculty And The Civic Theatre Join To Present Film Series
The Muhlenberg College faculty and the Civic Theatre will join forces once again to present the third Muhlenberg Film Forum.Monday, February 6, 2006 01:59 PM
Created as part of the Civic Theatre’s 19 th Street Film series, this series consists of post-film discussions, led by Muhlenberg College faculty. The forum schedule is as follows:
February 8 – Paradise Now
Golden Globe winner for Best Foreign Language Film, Paradise Now delves deeply into the minds of two would-be Palestinian terrorists, as they embark upon what may be the last 48 hours of their lives. Dr. Mark Stein, assistant professor of history, will lead the post-film discussion.
February 15 – White Countess
White Countess is a Merchant Ivory film set in 1930s Shanghai, starring Ralph Fiennes, Natasha Richardson, and Lynn and Vanessa Redgrave. Dr. Tom Cragin, associate professor of history, will lead the post-film discussion.
February 22 – Cache (Hidden)
This French thriller stars 19th Street mainstays Daniel Auteuil and Juliette Binoche. Dr. Paul McEwan, visiting assistant professor of media and communications and Dr. Eileen Ketchum, visiting assistant professor of French, will lead the post-film discussion.
March 1 – The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada
Tommy Lee Jones' directorial debut is both a potent western and a powerful morality tale. Dr. Erika Sutherland, associate professor of Spanish, will lead the post-film discussion.
