I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change at ‘Berg

The Muhlenberg Summer Music Theatre opens the Lehigh Valley premiere of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, the run-away Off-Broadway hit on modern marital bliss this week.

This phenomenal musical revue celebrates the joys and complications of dating, courtship, marriage and parenting in the modern world. Each scene reveals a familiar journey spiced with the hopefulness, sweetness, despair and humanity that audiences around the world have recognized as part of our search for eternal love.

The quartet of performers in I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change features Equity artists Brian Cooper and Jean Arbeiter with Muhlenberg student Kennedy Kanagawa ’08 and recent graduate Carly Nicole Friedlander ‘06. These charismatic actors play an ensemble of nearly 60 characters living through the radically changing years of single and married life. The actors engage in solo, duet and ensemble vignettes spiced with songs like, “Cantata for a First Date,” “I Will Be Loved Tonight,” “Always a Bridesmaid,” “Marriage Tango,” and “I Can Live With That.”
