The article, “Touring the Calculus Gallery,” appeared in the publication in January 2005. American Mathematical Monthly has the largest circulation of any math journal in the world.
Established in 1964, the Lester R. Ford Award is presented by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA). The MAA produces four journals and gives annual awards for the best article in each journal. Dunham has now won awards for articles appearing in three of the four journals: he received the George Polya Award for an article in College Mathematics Journal in 1992, and in 1997, he won the Trevor Evans Award for a piece that appeared in Math Horizons.
The Lester R. Ford Award was presented to Dunham on August 11, at the Summer MathFest 2006 in Knoxville, Tenn.
