Student Scholarship Celebration At Muhlenberg College
Muhlenberg College will hold a Student Scholarship Celebration on Saturday, April 16 from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. in the Baker Center for the Arts that honors student scholarship and faculty/student research collaborations.Tuesday, April 12, 2005 10:00 AM
Muhlenberg College will hold a Student Scholarship Celebration on Saturday, April 16 from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. in the Baker Center for the Arts that honors student scholarship and faculty/student research collaborations. The day will consist of oral presentations, performances and poster viewings. The Student Scholarship Celebration is free and open to the public.
Student-created posters will be up in the Galleria from 12:30 p.m. – 4 p.m. Posters on display will be: “ Movies & Mental Illness,” “Type 1a Supernova Search,Religion and Coping with Everyday Stress,” “Remote Sensing: Assessing Open Space in the Lehigh Valley through Satellite Images,” “Phenotypic Plasticity of Snail Radulae,” “Effects of Abiotic Interidal Stresses on Solitary and Colonial Invertebrates,” “Development of Plasmid DNA Constructs that Link Yellow Fever Mosquito Promoters to Human Antiviral and Red Fluorescent Protein Reporter Genes,” “Geographic Distribution of 17 Year Brood X Periodical Cicadas in Pennsylvania,” and “Ten Thousand Villages.”
Three performances will he held in the Recital Hall between 1 p.m. – 2 p.m., “Schumann Revisited,” from 1 p.m. – 1:20 p.m.; “An Approximation of Pi for Electronic Instruments” from 1:20 p.m. – 1:40 p.m.; and “Dancing Environments: Art, Nature and Movement” will be presented by from 1:40 p.m. – 2 p.m.
Students will present “The Feminine Inherent in the Divine World,” “Apart or A Part: Allentown’s African Americans from 1900-1940” and “An Exploration of Two Paradigms of the Divine Feminine in South Asia.” These presentations will take place in room 155 of the Baker Center for the Arts from 2:15 p.m. – 3 p.m.
