Muhlenberg College Celebrates The Year Of Languages

The Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures of Muhlenberg College will host a symposium on November 3 in celebration of 2005 The Year of Languages.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. in Ettinger rooms 203, 212 and 213, with paper presentations by students from colleges across the Lehigh Valley, with topics ranging from “The Portrayal of Latin America in Hollywood Film” to “The Dreyfus Affair: Roots and Effects of Anti-Semitism in France.” Posters will be presented at 4 p.m. in Ettinger room 212.

The day will culminate at 7 p.m. in Miller Forum, Moyer Hall with a keynote address by Dr. Terry Osborn of the University of Connecticut, titled “Advocating Language Education in a Market Economy.”

These events are free and open to the public.
