Moyer Named Outstanding Fundraiser

Tilghman H. Moyer, vice president for development and alumni relations at Muhlenberg College, has been named Outstanding Fundraising Executive by the Eastern Pennsylvania chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). Moyer received the award at the chapter's annual National Philanthropy Day awards dinner, November 12.
In the absence of a permanent president at Muhlenberg during the 2002-03 academic year, Moyer served as chief fundraising officer. He has spearheaded a $70 million capital campaign, over $43 million of which has been raised to date. Moyer has been with Muhlenberg since 1993, and has served as president of the Eastern Pennsylvania chapter of AFP, and assisted with local nonprofit organizations. He holds a master's degree in philanthropy from St. Mary's University in Minnesota, and earned his bachelor's degree at Penn State.
National Philanthropy Day celebrates the contributions of philanthropy in our community. Other area recipients of National Philanthropy Day honors include the Berks County Community Foundation Youth Advisory Committee, Dr. John H. and Ruby Updegrove, PPL Corporation, Jim Leupold, the Auxiliary of Lehigh Valley Hospital, St. Luke's Hospital & Health Network Auxiliary and the R.K. Laros Foundation.
