Dr. Joseph L. Amprey, Jr., will offer “Let’s Keep His Dream Alive” as part of Muhlenberg College’s 2003 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Event, Thursday, January 23, 7:30 p.m., Egner Memorial Chapel. The event is free and open to the public. Amprey is a professor in the department of advisement at Kutztown University, where he also serves as advisor to international students. A native of Baltimore, he holds degrees from Morgan State University, Johns Hopkins University, the University of Baltimore and The American University. Amprey’s fields of specialization are human diversity, race relations, psychology and international studies.
Currently the publisher and editor of DRUM, a bi-monthly newspaper focusing on news and views affecting people of color in Berks County, Pa., Amprey is also the editor of “Student Development on the Small Campus,” and for many years wrote a column on race relations for the Reading Eagle/Times in Reading, Pa.
