The Martin Art Gallery at Muhlenberg College will show Rembrandt Etchings, August 9 - October 11, 2002. The public is cordially invited to an opening reception, Friday, August 9, 5-7 p.m. in the Gallery, Baker Center for the Arts.
This long-awaited exhibition features a comprehensive group of prints by the old master. Assembled from the collections of the Reading Museum of Art, Bryn Mawr College, Franklin and Marshall College, and the Martin Art Gallery, this show demonstrates the beauty and breadth of Rembrandt's artistic talents. The exhibition has been shown at Lebanon Valley College and Ursinus College, and the tour will end at Franklin & Marshall College, where it will be on display October 24 - December 8, 2002.
The exhibition comprises 26 etchings, 22 of which will be shown at the Martin Art Gallery. Ten of the etchings are part of Muhlenberg's permanent collection.
