MUHLENBERG STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN "MITZVAH DAY"

Students and other members of the Muhlenberg College community will take part in "Mitzvah Day," Sunday, April 7. Mitzvah means "good deed" in Hebrew.
Mitzvah Day will be an afternoon of community service projects throughout the Lehigh Valley. Muhlenberg students will work with children and the elderly in completing artistic projects and outdoor work activities. The event is sponsored by Hillel.
The following are the sites and approximate times for Mitzvah Day.
12:30-3:30 p.m.
Jewish Community Center - Students will be working inside and outside throughout the camp on clean up projects.
1-3:45 p.m.
Sixth Street Shelter - Students will be painting apartments. Some will be working with children at the shelter on a reading activity. Approximately 100 books for a shelter library will be donated that day.
1-3 p.m.
AIDS Outreach - Students will collect toiletries for people with AIDS.
1-3 p.m.
Lehigh River Clean Up - Students will be cleaning up the riverbed and surrounding area.
Cemetery Clean Up - (12th and Chew) Students will be cleaning up cemetery and digging post holes.
2-3 p.m.
Cedarbrook Nursing Home - (350 S. Broadway), Dynamics will be performing.
Beth Tikveh/Manor Care Nursing Home - (Bethlehem), Students will be singing and visiting with residents.
