Muhlenberg College's Martin Art Gallery Features 100 Years Of Art By Women Artists

Guest curator Jennifer Olson Rudenko of the El Paso Museum of Art in El Paso, Texas will offer a gallery talk at the opening reception for "Women Artists: Past & Present" at Muhlenberg College's Martin Art Gallery, Thursday, October 24, 5:30 p.m., in the Galleria, Baker Center for the Arts.

Guest curator Jennifer Olson Rudenko of the El Paso Museum of Art in El Paso, Texas will offer a gallery talk at the opening reception for "Women Artists: Past & Present" at Muhlenberg College's Martin Art Gallery, Thursday, October 24, 5:30 p.m., in the Galleria, Baker Center for the Arts. The reception will run 4-7 p.m. in the Galleria and is free and open to the public. The lecture is sponsored by the College's Committee for Lectures and Forums and the Friends of the Martin Art Gallery.

This highly anticipated exhibition features major works of art by women artists in painting, sculpture, photography, and printmaking. Works by acclaimed artists including Mary Cassatt, Violet Oakley, Imogen Cunningham, Francoise Gilot, Miriam Schapiro, Faith Ringgold and Judy Chicago and a number of contemporary artists' work will be on display. Works on exhibit are from the College's world-class permanent art collection as well as from public and private collections.

After the show's run at Muhlenberg, which will end January 17, the exhibition will travel to the Erie Art Museum in Erie, Pa., and the Phillips Museum of Art on the campus of Franklin & Marshall College. For more information, visit http://www.muhlenberg.edu/cultural/gallery.
