‘Berg Hosts March And Rally Against War In Iraq

Muhlenberg College will host Lehigh Valley area organizations, students, and faculty for a rally and march against the war in Iraq to increase public awareness and influence legislators. The rally will take place Saturday, November 16, commencing at 1 p.m. in Parents Plaza (24th and Chew Streets, outside Seegers Union). The rally will include African drumming, speakers and musical guests.
The rally will culminate in a march to downtown Allentown beginning at 3 p.m. Participants will march east on Chew Street and then south on 17th Street, stopping at the Mediator Episcopal Church. Heading north on 15th Street, protesters will stop at the National Guard Headquarters on 15th and Allen Streets to deliver a petition to the governor of Pennsylvania, urging him not to send the Pennsylvania National Guard in the event of a war. The march will conclude at the Allentown Public Library at 12th and Hamilton.
