Bruce Anderson, Dean of Graduate Studies

Muhlenberg College has recently appointed  Bruce Anderson as the new Dean of the School of Graduate Studies. Anderson is a distinguished academician who has been a member of the Muhlenberg community for a long time. “His appointment is strategic for the new School of Graduate Studies,” says AJ Lemheney, Vice President and Executive Director of the Division of Graduate and Continuing Education.“He brings a wealth of institutional and administrative experience and a passion for graduate education to this pivotal role.”

Anderson's journey at Muhlenberg College has been defined by his commitment to academic excellence and a fervent dedication to the growth and development of students. He has served as a professor in the Chemistry Department for many years and held various roles, such as Department Chair, Dean of Academic Life, and Interim Provost, before taking up his current position as Dean of the School of Graduate Studies. “I am thrilled about this new opportunity at Muhlenberg and excited to collaborate with the Division's leadership team to expand our graduate programs,” says Anderson. 

Anderson received his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from McDaniel College and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Colorado, Boulder. His academic achievements and leadership roles highlight his strong foundation in the field of Chemistry and higher education administration.

Known for his dynamic teaching style and mentorship, Anderson has consistently demonstrated a keen interest in working closely with students, guiding them toward their academic and professional goals. “His vast experience makes him an ideal leader to oversee the School of Graduate Studies, where he will continue to foster an environment of academic rigor, innovation and student success,” says Laura Furge, provost and chief academic officer of Muhlenberg College.
