Teaching Interests
I am deeply passionate about the art of teaching and the profound impact it has on shaping minds and futures. My teaching interests are multifaceted, encompassing a commitment to fostering a culture of equity and social justice within the classroom and beyond. I am dedicated to continually engaging in self-reflection and ongoing education, empowering those around me, and actively listening to ensure inclusivity and equality. My expertise in hybrid and online learning modalities, coupled with proficiency in educational technologies and various learning management systems, allows me to enrich the educational journeys of my students. I am particularly focused on educational leadership, curriculum development, effective communication, and student engagement, leveraging these skills to create dynamic and collaborative learning environments.
Research, Scholarship or Creative/Artistic Interests
My research interests are deeply rooted in the exploration of educational equity, with a particular focus on the experiences of underrepresented groups in higher education. My dissertation, "Belonging Through Other Mothering: Exploring the Lived Experiences of Black Female College Students at Predominately White Intuition. A Phenomenological Study," is a testament to my commitment to understanding and addressing the challenges faced by these students. I am also keenly interested in the intersection of education and neuroscience, exploring topics such as neurodiversity, adult learning, and the neuroscience of creativity and innovation. My creative interests lie in the development of innovative teaching materials and the use of diverse instructional techniques to make complex concepts accessible and engaging for a wide audience.
