A Place to Celebrate Diversity
In 2006, President Emeritus Randy Helm announced a plan to develop a dedicated Multicultural Center on Muhlenberg's campus.
"We wanted to send the campus community a clear, powerful message about Muhlenberg’s commitment to diversity and multicultural life," said Helm in a 2006 article. "The task force proposed a superb plan for a center that will provide both social and co-curricular activities for our community, and we hope it will also serve as an engine for curricular development related to diversity issues."
The Center was debuted in 2007 and in January of this year celebrated its 10th anniversary. As part of the Office of Multicultural Life, the Center serves at the home of many student cultural affinity groups, including the Black Students Association.

The Office of Multicultural Life is a key resource for students seeking to engage with the campus community. In addition to serving as a host for campus affinity groups, the office leads cultural programming efforts and is a leader in discussions around social justice. The office is led by director Robin Riley-Casey and assistant director Mark Smiley.
