Dance Wellness Center

The Dance Wellness Center is NOW OPEN!

Walk-in hours are:

  • Tuesdays 8-10:30 am
  • Fridays, 9 am – noon

Muhlenberg is partnering with the Lehigh Valley Health Network to provide on-site athletic trainer services for our dancers.

The Dance Wellness Center offers assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of dance-related injuries. The staff will provide consultation and treatment during walk-in hours listed above.

Services are available to current dance majors, dance minors, and performers in our Departmental concerts.

Location:
The Pilates Center in the Life Sports Center. Here are instructions on how to get to the Pilates Center.

In addition, students enrolled in Dance Practices 1 only will be scheduled for dance screenings by the Dance Wellness Center staff. Students will be contacted to schedule a screening; these are not walk-in screenings. See details below.

Dance-related injuries

Dancers who are rehabilitating a dance-related injury can get ongoing treatment and rehabilitation through the Dance Wellness Center. If you are under the care of a physician for an injury, you will need a note from your doctor clearing you to be seen by the Athletic Trainers.

In the event of an injury requiring immediate medical treatment, don't wait for DWC walk-in hours. You should seek necessary medical attention through the Health Center or off-campus urgent care facility, as you would with any other injury.

DWC athletic trainers must screen students with injuries that prevent full class participation for more than one week. If your injury results in you missing more than three weeks of full physical participation in class, a medical withdrawal will be required.

Dance Screenings for DP1 Students

Students in Dance Practices 1 will be scheduled to consult with a Dance Wellness Center athletic trainer. Dance Screenings help to identify a dancer's trends, strengths, and limitations, and plan more appropriate dance-specific conditioning programs. Your dance screening will allow you to set goals that support effective, safe, and efficient dance training, and minimize injury risks.

Feedback, please!

The athletic training process for the dance program is new, and we value your feedback! If you visit the Dance Wellness Center, please complete the Dance Wellness Feedback Form to provide feedback on your experience with the Athletic Trainers. These responses will be used to refine the process.
