SOCIOLOGY ALUMNI

Gwen Kelly - ’18 traveled around New Zealand volunteering on small family farms as a ‘wwoofer,’ or a participant in the World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms program.

Malcolm McClain - '17 was accepted into the Master's Program in Sociology at Lehigh University where he was selected to receive a Graduate Teaching Fellowship.

Andrea Freed - ’16 is completing her student teaching in the Boston Public Schools system, and starting in the fall as a special educator in Boston.

Nicki McVinua - ’13 has recently graduated from Columbia School of Social Work, earning a M.S.W with a focus on Policy Practice. She is now working in NYC with a nonprofit supportive housing provider, Urban Pathways, as a policy analyst.

Brianna Brown - ’13 entered the Environment and Development MSc program at the London School of Economics.

Sarah Ruthbun - 13 interned for the Episcopal Diocese of Central Pennsylvania, planning summer camp, community service and engagement projects, and development of safe youth groups and other spaces for young people of diverse backgrounds in the Harrisburg area and the Central Pennsylvania region.

Josh Foss - ’12 worked at the Queens Scattered Site Housing Program for people living with HIV/AIDS as a Case Manager/Substance Abuse Counselor.

Rebecca Glassman - ’12 works as a Patient Educator and Telephone Counselor at Allentown Women's Center where she books appointments, counsels patients and facilitates financial assistance for low-income patients.

Karissa McCarthy - ’12 entered the Masters of Public Administration program at George Washington University's Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration.

Emmily Olson '11 - entered the Masters Degree program in Occupational Therapy at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.

Alex Ripkin '11 - works as a Behavioral Health Worker at CATCH Inc., a mental health organization in Philadelphia.

 

ANTHROPOLOGY ALUMNI

Heather Lash - '18 entered the graduate program in archaeology at Indiana Universityof Pennsylvania, where she has a Graduate Assistantship in Collections Management and is taking courses on Pre-Columbian North American Archaeology, Historical Archaeology, Zooarchaeology, and Geographic Information Systems.

Marc Jablonski - '15 is currently a Manager of Insights and Strategy for AKA NYC, a Broadway advertising and marketing agency, where he uses a combination of surveys, ethnography, digital and media analytics, and ticketing sales data to build strategy and develop media campaigns for Broadway shows including Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Come From Away, The Band's Visit, Lifespan of a Fact, American Son, and Be More Chill.

Rocio Vidal Ronchas - '15 graduated from Cambridge University with a MPhil in Archaeological Science and now works as an Editorial Coordinator for Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) at the National Academy of Science.

Dylan High - '11 entred the University of Washington's Masters Degree Program in Museum Anthropology.

Charlotte Green - '11 entered Yale University's Masters Degree Program in Archaeology.

Sarah Messbauer - '11 entered University of California-Davis' PhD program in Anthropology.
