Katie Stafford joined the Muhlenberg College faculty in the fall of 2011 and teaches Elementary Spanish I and II courses.
She is currently working on her dissertation on visual and literary narrations of the Spanish Civil War and the politics of memory. Stafford taught beginning, intermediate, and advanced Spanish language classes at the University of California, Davis and was also Assistant Director of the UC Davis Quarter Abroad program in Madrid. Before pursuing an academic career she was a high school teacher in California.
She has lived abroad in Spain and Colombia and is passionate about teaching cross-cultural fluency and about giving her students a sense of the wider world around them.
