Develop the entrepreneurial mindset and skills necessary to become the innovators of tomorrow.
Learn from experienced entrepreneurs with a commitment to teaching both the practical and theoretical frameworks of entrepreneurship.
Within the interdisciplinary Innovation & Entrepreneurship Program, your work is not limited to theory. Instead, you will have the chance to validate your ideas with a potential customer base and develop a business model to bring these designs to life — both within our state-of-the-art makerspace and the larger community.
You will be encouraged to take risks and explore your own entrepreneurial journey while gathering the foundational basics that will support you in whatever path you choose pursue as part of tomorrow's innovators.
Muhlenberg College’s liberal arts tradition means our Innovation & Entrepreunership Program is about much more than honing business acumen. Our students have explored market solutions to environmental issues in collaboration with our Sustainability Studies Program; the role of human creativity in innovation with our Department of Psychology; and the value of artistic integrity to artists seeking self-employment in the arts in courses linked to our fine arts programs.
As an Innovation and Entrepreneurship minor, you will have many opportunities to develop solutions to real-world problems, validate your ideas with potential customers, and develop robust business models. Our courses are designed to allow students to explore their own entrepreneurial journey while providing a solid foundation in the basics.
Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Muhlenberg is firmly rooted in the liberal arts tradition. We believe that entrepreneurship is about more than understanding business basics. Our students have explored market solutions to environmental issues in collaboration with our Sustainability program; the role of human creativity in innovation with our psychology department; and the value of artistic integrity to artists seeking self-employment in the arts in courses linked to our fine arts programs.
The Entrepreneurship Program offers many opportunities for students to explore their interests outside of the classroom. We host many events, both on and off campus, where students have the opportunity to meet with successful entrepreneurs and visit start-up ventures. We also provide support and mentorship to students with entrepreneurial ideas through our Entrepreneurship Center and Maker Space.
The new space in the Fahy Commons for Public Engagement and Innovation is open to all students, faculty and staff and has workers trained in the machinery available to assist with projects.
Jayson Williams-Johnson '25, a finance major and men's basketball player, was part of the Summer Seedbox program, which combines research in sustainability alongside innovation and entrepreneurship.
The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Program hosts these events each spring semester.
