The Acopian Center for Ornithology, established in 2006, houses a historic 2,000+ piece mounted bird collection, whose specimens average 100 years old and include many threatened, endangered and even extinct species.

Created with a bequest from local philanthropist Sarkis Acopian, the Center and its extensive research library are used by students, faculty as well as the Lehigh Valley community. The Center, associated with the Department of Biology, is committed to providing hands-on training in the natural sciences through specialized classes and collection-based research opportunities.
