How Thematic Programs Are Chosen
Each fall, the Director calls planning meetings to be attended by interested faculty, students, and staff. Discussions at these planning meetings typically generate a number of potential themes for the following academic year. Participants in those planning meetings are then asked to comment on their preferences for the theme. Once the theme has been chosen, the Director appoints a Program Director charged with planning the following year's program in conjunction with a committee comprised of interested campus members representing a variety of academic disciplines and college offices.
