2022-2025 Middle States Self-Study

Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), Muhlenberg’s accrediting body, requires evaluation of all aspects of the institution holistically, including modality of instruction, and everything done in the name of the institution, including all academic programs and services.

The Middle States process requires us to meet seven standards relating to our mission and philosophy, academic programming, operations and student experience. To that end, we have created six Working Groups to address them. Our Working Groups are collecting a variety of data demonstrating the effectiveness of our strategies, operations and outcomes–in short, the difference we make in the lives of our students, their careers, our community, and the world.

Institutional Priorities

  • Strengthening the Student Experience
  • Enhancing Enrollment and Retention
  • Maintaining Financial Health
