Major Certificates

Students may earn a certificate from Muhlenberg College by taking evening or weekend classes in the traditional majors below. Students pursuing a major certificate will complete the same sequence of courses as students pursuing the major.

The number of courses required for the certificate will vary depending on the number of courses required for the major; for example, the History major requires nine courses (or 36 credit hours), while the Accounting major requires 12 courses (or 48 credit hours) for the Bachelor's of Arts or Science degree through the School of Continuing Studies. However, not all classes are offered during the evening hours, and some programs will require day classes.

The School of Continuing Studies accepts comparable credits from regionally accredited colleges and universities. In addition, students may transfer up to half of the major from other institutions toward their Muhlenberg certificate.
