National Conference on Race and Ethnicity
The Southwest Center for Human Relations Studies Annual National Conference for Race & Ethnicity in American Higher Education (NCORE) addresses the resurgence of racist incidents in higher education. Since its inception, NCORE has evolved into a vital national resource for higher education institutions, providing an annual multicultural forum that attracts Black/African Americans, American Indians, Asian/Pacific Islanders, Latino/as, and European Americans representing campuses across the United States.
In May 2011, Muhlenberg College sent a team of staff, students, faculty and administrators to the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity (NCORE) in American Education. NCORE is a five day gathering of people who are committed to dismantling injustice and seek effective strategies to unlearn prejudices, develop cultural competence and foster inclusive communities.
The 24nd annual 2011 NCORE Conference was held May 26-30 in San Francisco, California.
