Season review
Just two years after finishing in last place, the Mules climbed to third to earn their first Centennial Conference playoff berth since 2008.

Nick Kennedy May 28: Kennedy named to Sportsmanship Team
Senior Nick Kennedy (right) was named to the Spring All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team.

Nick Gazzillo May 27: Six named to Academic Honor Roll
Six baseball players, including senior Nick Gazzillo (left), were among a record 44 Muhlenberg student-athletes named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for the spring.

John Scuderi May 21: Scuderi named to all-region team
John Scuderi '14 (right) was named to the Mid-Atlantic All-Region third team by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

May 8: Three selected to All-CC team
Three Mules who turned in breakout seasons were named to the All-Centennial Conference team.

May 3: Mules eliminated
Muhlenberg suffered close losses to Gettysburg and Haverford and was eliminated from the Centennial Conference playoffs one game short of the championship round.

Max Litvak May 2: Litvak earns academic honor
Seniors Max Litvak (left) was named to the Academic All-District team and will advance to the ballot for Academic All-America consideration.

Matthew Lawsky May 1: Muhlenberg aces first playoff test
The Mules defeated Haverford, 9-5, in the first round of the Centennial Conference playoffs for its their postseason win in 11 years. Junior Matthew Lawsky (right) allowed one run over the first seven innings to earn his fifth win of the season.

April 30: CC playoff preview
Two years after finishing in last place, the Mules earned a Centennial Conference playoff berth.

Centennial Conference April 28: Playoff schedules set
Muhlenberg had four teams - tied for the most in the league - qualify for Centennial Conference postseason tournaments.

April 28: Icaza honored by Centennial
Freshman John Icaza was named Centennial Conference player of the week.

April 28: Muhlenberg drops regular-season finale
Muhlenberg lost at home to DeSales, 9-5, in its last game before the Centennial Conference playoffs.

Jimmy Cody April 26: Extra-inning walkoff keeps playoff hopes alive
Muhlenberg staved off elimination in the Centennial Conference playoff race by scoring three runs in the bottom of 11th to defeat Johns Hopkins, 10-9, in the second game of a doubleheader. Junior Jimmy Cody (left) scored the winning run after beating out an infield single.

Brett Rosen April 25: Muhlenberg comes back to tie Dickinson
The Mules came back to tie Dickinson, 6-6, in a game shortened to seven innings by rain. Senior Brett Rosen (right) hit a tying two-run homer in the top of the seventh.

April 22: Late rally falls short
Facing a four-run deficit entering the bottom of the ninth, the Mules staged a late rally but came up a run short and lost to Dickinson, 7-6.

April 21: Early deficit too much for Mules
Haverford scored four runs in the second inning and went on to defeat Muhlenberg, 11-4.

Troy Elias April 19: Mules split with No. 22 Gettysburg
Muhlenberg split a doubleheader at 22nd-ranked Gettysburg to remain in second place in the Centennial Conference. Freshman Troy Elias (left) earned the win in the opener, allowing only two runs in six innings in his first career start.

David Anderson April 18: Anderson pitches gem vs. Swarthmore
Junior David Anderson (right) pitched eight shutout innings as the Mules gained a split of the season series with Swarthmore with a 3-0 home win.

April 16: Mules fall on late run
Swarthmore scored in the bottom of the eighth to hand the Mules a 4-3 loss.

Nick Plinio April 12: Late rally completes sweep
Muhlenberg scored two runs in the ninth to defeat Franklin & Marshall, 2-1, and complete a doubleheader sweep. Junior Nick Plinio (left) had four hits, including two of the Mules' record-tying eight doubles, in a 15-7 win in the first game.

Tyler Latrenta April 10: Muhlenberg edged by Moravian
Moravian, which is receiving votes in both national polls, held on to defeat Muhlenberg, 4-3. Senior Tyler Latrenta (right) was 2-for-3 with a stolen base.

April 9: Mules fall in makeup
Muhlenberg lost to Ursinus, 13-5, in a game that was finally played after being rained out twice.

John Icaza April 8: Eight-run inning boosts Mules
Muhlenberg scored eight runs in the sixth inning and went on to win at Haverford, 12-10. Freshman John Icaza (right) had two extra-base hits, including his first career home run, in the big inning.

April 6: Mules complete 3-0 weekend
Muhlenberg defeated Washington, 8-5, for its third win in two days.

Phillip Balseca April 5: Pitching leads Mules to sweep
Muhlenberg did not allow an earned run in 19 inninga in picking up its first two Centennial Conference wins with a doubleheader sweep at McDaniel. Junior Phillip Balseca (left) worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the ninth to earn the win in the opener.

April 1: Bats quiet at Ursinus
The Mules managed only one hit over the first 8 2/3 innings and lost at Ursinus, 5-1.

March 29: Mules drop Centennial opener
Muhlenberg lost 12-7 to Washington in a Centennial Conference-opening game shortened to six innings due to rain.

Kurt Johnson March 27: Early long ball ignites Mules
Junior Kurt Johnson (right) homered on the third pitch of the game, and Muhlenberg went on to score seven runs in the first inning in a 16-5 defeat of Penn State Berks.

March 25: Mules join fight against cancer
The Mules are raising money for the Vs. Cancer Foundation and will shave their heads following Saturday's doubleheader against Washington.

March 23: Muhlenberg falls at Shenandoah
Muhlenberg led nationally ranked Shenandoah by four runs in the sixth inning before losing, 10-6.

Robbie Hopes March 22: Mules swept in home opener
Muhlenberg was swept by The College of New Jersey in its home-opening doubleheader. Freshman Robbie Hopes (left) hit his first career home run in the nightcap, a 9-7 loss.

Nick Gies March 16: First-inning doubles pave way for win
Muhlenberg belted four doubles in the first inning and went on to defeat Penn State Harrisburg, 10-7. Junior Nick Gies (right) allowed only one earned run in six innings to earn his first win of the season.

March 10: Anderson named pitcher of the week
Junior David Anderson was named pitcher of the week by the Centennial Conference.

March 8: Mules drop final game of trip
Muhlenberg could not overcome an early 3-0 deficit and lost its final game in South Carolina, 4-2 to Johnson & Wales.

March 7: Muhlenberg hangs on for third straight win
Muhlenberg survived a three-run rally in the top of the ninth to defeat New Paltz State, 9-7, for its third straight win. Junior Matthew Lawsky pitched seven strong innings to earn his second win of the season.

Seth Fenster March 6: Mules walk off with extra-inning win
Muhlenberg scored a run in the ninth to tie and one in the bottom of the 10th to beat York, 2-1. Junior Seth Fenster (right) retired all six batters he faced to earn his first career win.
