About Us
What We Do
Explore emerging technologies and facilitate the effective use of technology in support of language learning, research, and service learning. Assist students daily in the use of laboratory’s many resources, and also support faculty in the following areas:
- Instruction within the Language Learning Center and in classrooms
- Management of course materials in Blackboard
- Assistance with departmental events
- Online FL placement exams
- Design, development, and maintenance of departmental website
Lab Assistants / Work Study
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of campus standard computer applications (Microsoft Office, Firefox, Internet Explorer)
- Familiarity with at least one language other than English
Duties
- Supervise the use of LLC equipment
- Assist faculty and students in using instructional materials
- Participate in faculty development initiatives
- Maintain LLC calendar
- Authorized to handle the audiotapes and tape deck
Presidential Assistant
- Maintain proficiency in the technologies of the Language Learning Center
- Act as a resource person for students and faculty in the use and application of technologies
- Provide support for students and faculty in the implementation and use of multi-media curricular materials
- Facilitate and enable the routine use of specialized technology in the everyday teaching of foreign languages and cultures
- Prepare and maintain reference and training materials
- Assist in troubleshooting, tuning, and configuring systems
- Coordinate technology projects, as assigned
- Maintain a resource library
- Provide training to lab assistants, as directed
- Participate in the development and application of multimedia resources at Muhlenberg
- Other duties and projects as assigned by the Director of the Language Learning Center
