A team of Muhlenberg seniors - Samuel Carlson, Stefano Fuchs, David Martin, Seth Markin, and Joshua Sorhagen - won second place at the Fleming Ethics Bowl competition held at DeSales University on March 22. Ethics Bowl competitors analyze a contemporary business or public policy problem through an ethical framework, and present their analysis to a panel of area business educators and professionals. This year, the case involved the fracking industry.
The team was coached by professors Daniel Doviak of the Philosophy Department and Roland Kushner of Business. Muhlenberg students have placed first or second in three of the four years in which they have participated in the Ethics Bowl, competing this year against teams from Moravian, Lafayette, DeSales, and Penn State Lehigh Valley.
Another team, consisting of seniors Michael Daniel, Chris Galletta, Rachel Kennett, and Brendan Smith also made it to the final round.
