The College co-sponsored a triumphant performance of the Azerbaijani operetta, "The Cloth Peddler,” this weekend before an audience of nearly three thousand people, including President Randy Helm and Pat Helm, in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles, Ca.  Muhlenberg faculty members Michael Schnack, Jeffrey Peterson, Brian Chu, Lauren Madigan and Steven Snow, as well as recent alums from the departments of Music, Theatre and Dance, joined an international cast of opera singers, thirty members of the L.A. Opera Orchestra and a lighting and projections design team from California to present this piece – the first operetta of the Muslim world – on the 100th anniversary of its composition.  President Helm spoke to area Muhlenberg alums, parents of current students, and interested high-schoolers at a pre-performance reception, and the performers and members of the production team gave a Q&A session after the show.  Both events were hosted by the Office of Alumni Relations and the Los Angeles Alumni Club.
