MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: The Department of Plant Operations is responsible for the maintenance of the buildings and grounds on campus. This includes everything from planned maintenance on equipment, repair of machinery, moving offices around the campus, cleaning, painting, HVAC, chemical control of the pool, trimming of shrubs to clearing bird capture areas at the Biological Field Station in Germansville. Any and all changes to the physical structure of any building or to any land area of the campus must be performed by the Department of Plant Operations, or under it supervision or with its approval.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Knowledge of the condition of the College's physical plant is a primary responsibility of the Department of Plant Operations. It is imperative that the Department be advised of any planned alteration of, or addition to, any College structure or land area. Regardless of whether the Department renders service or not, the Department's management must be informed of all planned work.

All connections to campus utility systems (storm sewer, water, gas, electrical, sewer or steam) either in or outside of a building shall be performed by the Department of Plant Operations personnel or by licensed professionals under the direction of the Department.

The Department is responsible for inspection and approval of all work. Completed work for compliance with statutory requirements and established College policies are also the responsibility of the Department. Plant Operations shall receive all as-built plans and a copy of equipment manuals for all projects performed on campus.
