Email and Network Account Policy

Expiration of Email Accounts

There are many reasons for which an individual might leave Muhlenberg College. The account expiration policies are listed below. The College reserves the right to suspend an account or revoke access privileges at any time for violation of our Electronic Communications Policy.

If separation is for cause, accounts will expire immediately and without notice.

Faculty

Faculty Departures (Other than Retirement)
Faculty will receive a forwarding service for 1 year following departure from the college. Full email privileges will not be available.

Retired Faculty

Emeritus faculty who have retired from the College will be permitted to retain their email privileges if their account remains active. An account inactive for a period of one year will be removed.

Non-emeritus faculty who have retired from the College will receive a forwarding service for 1 year following departure from the college. Full email privileges will not be available.

Staff

Staff Departures (Other than Retirement)
Email accounts will be deactivated on the last worked day.

Retired Staff
Staff who have retired from the College with less than 10 years of service will have their email account deactivated on their last work day.

Staff who have retired from the College with 10 years of service or more will receive a forwarding service for 1 year following departure from the college. Full email privileges will not be available.

Students

Students who leave before graduation
Students who leave without completion of their degree or other program may keep their email privileges until the end of the calendar year during which they leave.

Expelled students
Email privileges will be suspended immediately upon directive from the Dean of Students’ Office.

Alumni
Alumni can keep email accounts until the end of the calendar year during which they graduate.
