Seegers Union Construction
Ongoing Construction of Seegers Union
Muhlenberg College recently broke ground on a project to renovate Seegers Union, the campus’ student center, and Parents Plaza, the quadrangle directly outside of the building.
This $20 million dollar project is the second phase of a plan to renovate the space, which was built in 1964. The first phase was completed in 2006. In addition to the outdoor renovations, the building’s kitchen servery and bookstore will be expanded, and additional space for student events and offices will be created.
The architect for Seegers Union is Bruner Cott from Cambridge, Mass., and the construction manager is Alvin H Butz from Allentown, Pa.
This project helps to fulfill the College’s Strategic Plan to “ensure that Muhlenberg has the financial capacity, technological infrastructure, and facilities to achieve all its strategic objectives while assuring the availability of adequate resources for our successors; maintain the campus as a beautiful and efficient venue for pursuit of our mission.”
