StrengthsQuest

WHAT IS "STRENGTHSQUEST"?

Imagine going to class or work every day knowing exactly how to get the most out of the experience; excited because you can apply yourself - your very best - to the work at hand. That's the goal of StrengthsQuest.

  • StrengthsQuest is a program that provides you with the opportunity to develop strengths by building on your greatest talents - the way you most naturally think, feel, and behave as a unique individual. As you become more attuned to your natural patterns of success, you begin to develop more intentional ways to use those talents for even greater success.

The StrengthsQuest Program is based on six principles of human nature and behavior:

  • 1. You have a group of talents within you.
    2. Your greatest talents hold the key to high achievement, success, and progress at levels of personal excellence.
    3. Becoming aware of your talents builds confidence and provides a basis for achievement.
    4. Learning how to develop and apply strengths will improve your levels of achievement.
    5. Each of your talents can be applied in many areas including relationships, learning, academics, leadership, service, and careers.
    6. As you develop and apply strengths, your achievements will increase and you will experience greater and more frequent successes. (Edward "Chip" Anderson, 2004)

By participating in StrengthsQuest you will be provided with tools to:

1. Utilize knowledge of your talents to plan, strategize, analyze and direct your personal behavior,
2. Improve interpersonal relationships and success in teams, clubs and your personal life,
3. Apply strengths in a context related to jobs, leadership positions, or career.
